From the recording Keep Faith To Go On Another Day
I spent years traveling the highways with Christian bands, living out of a suitcase and chasing the next church, concert, and stage. We drove long miles, slept in countless hotels, shared laughs and late-night conversations, and sometimes wondered where the next meal—or the next show—would come from.
But when the lights came on and the music started, none of the miles mattered. We played our hearts out, shared the message through music, and watched audiences sing along. Those years on the road taught me that ministry wasn't always about where we were going—it was about the people we met along the way.
Looking back, I wouldn't trade those miles, those friendships, or those moments on stage for anything. The road was long, but the music and sharing God's message of hope made every mile worthwhile.
Lyrics
Verse 1
Woke up this mornin', sun peeking through,
Had a few troubles, had a few blues,
But I heard a quiet voice deep inside,
Sayin', "Child, keep walkin', I'll be your guide."
Every road ain't easy, every hill ain't small,
But the Lord gives strength when I start to fall,
So I lift my head and I face the day,
Knowin' He's beside me every step of the way.
Chorus
I got faith in God to see me through,
When the skies turn gray and I don't know what to do,
He gives me hope, He gives me light,
Keeps my heart steady through the darkest night.
Oh yes He does, yes He does,
Gives me strength to carry on,
I got faith in God for another day,
And I know His love will lead the way.
Verse 2
Bills on the table, worries on my mind,
Still His mercy shows up right on time,
When the world keeps turnin' and I feel alone,
He reminds me this earth ain't my home.
I've seen mountains move, I've seen prayers come true,
Seen His hand at work in all He can do,
So I keep on singin' with a grateful heart,
Knowin' His promises never depart.
